72andSunny vet joins former Surfrider CEO Jim Moriarty to steer Brand Citizens
Brand Citizens was born out of a desire for the power of creativity to help brands generate positive social impact while advancing their business goals. The company is part of the MDC Partners network of companies and has worked with various Fortune 500 brands developing both long-term citizenship strategies to advise on critical crisis management.
Elisha Greenwell joined Brand Citizens in March as co-managing director alongside former Surfrider Foundation CEO, Jim Moriarty, who led brand citizenship efforts for 72andSunny from 2014 to 2019. Elisha also previously worked at 72andSunny five years ago as a strategy director.
“After spending much of my career championing efforts that benefit people, while also driving profit, I’m proud to have joined forces with Jim, who has led a similar path as a strategic leader and social advocate,” said Elisha. “And to get to do it in alliance with 72andSunny and their commitment to diversity and un-ignorable creativity – I can’t help but feel like I manifested this role.”
Elisha helps lead the operations and expansion of Brand Citizens as a purpose and practice. A social impact strategist by trade, she has developed effective and award-winning programs for Intel, Nike, Target and Starbucks over the course of her 15-year career. She is an active board member of the Huey Newton Foundation, the JD Sheth Foundation and the founder of Black Joy Parade
, a movement welcoming over 25,000 people to celebrate the positive black experience past, present, and future.
