Michael Owen has over 25 years of experience producing documentaries, music videos, TV commercials and content for digital platforms. As a principal of MediaCombo, Michael has produced programs for the U.S. State Department, Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, the American Museum of Natural History, Museum of the City of New York, and Pfizer among many others. He also manages production services for MediaCombo, which provides turnkey support to overseas clients filming commercials, television programs and films in North America. Commercial brands included Centraal Baheer, Korres, Lamborghini, Toyota, Unilever, VW and Wendys Michael knows that to keep stories engaging content must be tailored to specific audiences and delivery platforms. He has a deep understanding of production, post-production and distribution technologies, as well as an ability to grasp quickly what a client expects to achieve from a production. He began his career shooting music videos of The Talking Heads, Television and other bands at CBGBs. He went on to work with directors such as Peter Sellars, Jim Jarmusch, Lindsay Anderson, Michael Apted and Sam Peckinpah on a variety of music documentaries. As a partner in MICA TV in the 1980s – 90’s he produced a series of short video art portraits of the artists Cindy Sherman, Richard Prince, Laurie Simmons and others. These videos have been broadcast on the BBC and Channel Four, and exhibited at many museums around the world including the ICA Boston, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Walker Art Center, the Whitney Museum of American Art and Metropolitan Museum of Art.
