Yummi Media Group Names Joe Evea Chief Commercial Officer

Yummi Media Group has announced that Joe Evea will join the company from DCM as Chief Commercial Officer.

In his new role Joe will be responsible for driving Yummi’s commercial strategy as the business continues to expand its global footprint. Additionally Joe will focus on developing the global optimisation of the company’s technology platform (phonix) through its mobile application products, which include cinime, the app created with DCM in the UK and we动 (wedong) in China.

On his appointment Joe said, “There is a real scope for Yummi to move into the media space and I am looking forward to rapidly expanding the global footprint of phonix, not only in cinema but into other channels including television and live events.”

Joe will be responsible for working closely with Yummi’s wider leadership team to establish phonix as a universal media platform on a global scale and facilitate connections between brands and their consumers through interactive mobile experiences.

In July 2014 Yummi signed a commercial agreement with China Times in China and the company is close to completing significant partnership agreements in Western Europe, USA and Asia Pacific.

Alastair Simpson, CEO, Yummi Media Group said:  “Joe is a critical hire for us at a time of transition - as we evolve from a tech-based company into a media business.  Our vision has always been to develop a product range that engages and connects audiences to content and brands globally. Joe’s experience and innovative approach will complement our existing strong global team in taking us from our foundations of cinema and into other media channels.”
