This Red Bull Film Is a Kaleidoscopic, BMX Extravaganza
Red Bull Media House, Sony, Ridley Scott Associates and BMX rider Kriss Kyle have released Kaleidoscope, a stunning riding film incorporating a combination of moving set pieces, optical techniques and never before seen BMX stunts.
The Kaleidoscope set was designed by Ben Scott, and enables Kyle to showcase his visual flair and breathtaking riding. Scott, who made his directoral debut with Kaleidoscope said of working with Kyle “I have been on film sets all of my career, and have seen most things, but nothing really prepares you for an athlete coming to you in the middle of a shooting day and saying,” you know that 38 foot drop combo, well, I thought I might do it backwards.” Now that’s scary”.
Widely regarded as one of the most exciting and unique riders of his generation, Kyle often finds lines where others see dead ends.
Speaking of the project Kriss said: “Kaleidoscope has been the most surreal things that I have ever been involved in. Riding a park that is constantly moving and shifting was challenging but enabled me to pull off lines and tricks that have never been seen before. I have had the opportunity to work with creative and technical people from worlds that I never thought I would be part of with my BMX bike. I am so excited by the end result and all the work that has been put in feels justified.”
