The Perks of Looking Like Aaron Rodgers in DDB Chicago's State Farm Spot

British comedian Tom Wrigglesworth plays Green Bay Packers quarterback's doppelganger

The Perks of Looking Like Aaron Rodgers in DDB Chicago's State Farm Spot

State Farm wanted to make a commercial about saving big with Discount Double Check for the playoffs with their favorite quarterback, but the “real” Aaron Rodgers was too busy scoring touchdowns. So DDB Chicago has created a new State Farm spot featuring British comedian Tom Wrigglesworth, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Green Bay quarterback and State Farm spokesperson, Aaron Rodgers. The spot, which officially launched on Saturday, features Aaron Rodgers’ doppelganger from the UK pretending – with some challenge – to be him.

In his place, Wrigglesworth hilariously plays up their physical similarities and attempts to stand in for the MVP.  It becomes immediately clear that he’s not the real thing with his obvious British accent, press conference shenanigans and when he comically spells Aaron’s name wrong while signing autographs. The ad also features the return of the Cheesehead, played by the hilarious Adrian Martinez.

You can follow more of Tom’s antics on twitter here. Keep up with @State Farm with #DoubleCheck where you can find a series called “Football by a Brit” featuring quotes from Tom containing his misinformed understanding of American football.
