Say No to CO with This Haunting Carbon Monoxide PSA
Production International have just completed work on this stunning new charity film for the Katie Haines Memorial Trust.
The piece was directed by Susannah Hayes with creative by Lee Goulding from Egg & Spoon, who were approached by the charity to make a film highlighting the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, with the aim of raising public awareness and driving people to a petition they have set up to try and change current legislation in England and Wales to make CO alarms mandatory where carbon burning devices are installed.
Trustees of the charity, Gordon and Avril Samuel tragically lost their daughter to CO poisoning four years ago and have since been campaigning in her name to try and prevent further unnecessary loss of life.
The production was run through PI’s London office, and budget restrictions meant shooting over one day in only one location (with some art department magic) to depict five different scenes with people from various walks of life. Shot using a MoVi M10 rig the camera movement is intended to mimic the flow of the toxic gas from different sources in each scene, as CO can be emitted from any appliance burning combustible fuel, so it's not just the dodgy boiler you need to watch out for!
The end result is a beautifully shot film that succinctly and powerfully conveys its message, which you ca support at www.no-to-co.co.uk
