Sainsbury's Dad Dance Crew Throws Down Some Festive Moves
Sainsburys has created an online film to raise awareness of its new Christmas jumper range which has become an immediate Facebook hit. The film, which features five dads pulling off an audacious dance to a remixed dubstep version of Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy in front of a surprised audience in a community hall, has amassed over 1 million views and over 18,000 shares in 48 hours.
The film, shot in a deliberately low-fi hand-held style, gives a comical and unexpected twist on a dad’s dance routine at a community hall. Still in-keeping with the traditional Christmas family theme all the dancers are middle-aged men aged up to 59, who performed the choreographed dance to a real live audience.
Due to the success of the online film, and the thousands of positive comments about people wanting to do their own routine, the remixed track is now being made available as a free download through Sainsbury’s Entertainment and Soundcloud.
