Red Fuse Communications Appoints John Gamvros as Head of Strategy Asia
Jason Oke, regional managing director Asia Red Fuse Communications has announced the appointment of John Gamvros as head of strategy Asia for Red Fuse Communications, a WPP full-service integrated agency dedicated to serving all of Colgate-Palmolive’s brands worldwide.
In his new role, Gamvros oversees all of Red Fuse’s strategy practices for Colgate-Palmolive across Asia, including brand strategy, communications planning, digital strategy, and data analytics. Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Oke. Overseeing a six-strong team, Gamvros also sits on Red Fuse Asia’s management team.
He joins Red Fuse from PHD Singapore where he was the global strategy lead on Unilever brands including Lux, Lifebuoy, Ponds and Close Up. Prior to PHD, he worked at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore as regional planning director for APAC.
Originally from Australia, Gamvros started his career at OMD Sydney. His meteoric rise saw him co-found Fuse (OMD's branded content division), represent APAC on OMD’s worldwide creative council and win the Media Federation Grand Prix.
Later, Gamvros launched an independent creative agency named Stoke as founder and head of planning. Stoke was born of his passion for ground-breaking ideas and the growing need for innovative, integrated communications solutions.
Outside the office Gamvros regularly lectures at various forums, including his regular preaching sessions to his mates at the pub! He has been MC at more than 10 weddings, and is passionately obsessed with Halloumi cheese.
Commenting on the appointment, Oke said: “John’s experience across strategy in media, creative and content agencies makes him a valuable addition to the Red Fuse management team. This combined strategy role befits our integrated ‘horizontal’ agency model."
