Real Housewives of Melbourne Launches on ITV Be
Newly launched ITV channel to air Australian reality TV series filmed by Mikey Trotter
Dingo Bill Director Mikey Trotter completed filming on Matchbox Pictures / NBC Universal's ‘The Real Housewives of Melbourne
’ some 18 months ago in Australia. The series was an instant success leading it to be launched in the USA soon after.
It has now been selected by newly launched channel ITV Be as one of their key shows, where it launched this month to much applause.
Following in the tradition of other Real Housewives’ series the Melbourne edition is an enlightening insight into the rich and fame hungry lives of a select group of businesswomen. This image is unusual in Australian culture, where people are generally not boastful of their achievements. ITV Be’s celebrity focused audience shall no doubt receive it with relish.
Originally from the UK, Mikey has spent the last 5 years in Australia, where he honed his skills as a documentary filmmaker. Aside from working on Real Housewives he has created some very touching and thought provoking films. His series of ten minute documentaries of the lives of HIV sufferers in Australia’s Queensland are far cry from Real Housewives. Before leaving for Australia Mikey directed the popular Pineapple studios series, launching the effervescent Louie Spence on the nation.
