New York Takes Centre Court in DDB NY's Hype-building NBA Spot

In anticipation of the 2015 NBA All-Star Game in New York, DDB New York has created a new integrated campaign celebrating the NBA’s annual sporting event being held from February 13-15th.

The highlight of the campaign – which commemorates the 64th edition of the All-Star Game – is a 30 second spot featuring the voiceover of hip hop artist Common, hot off the heels of his Super Bowl XLIX debut.

DDB New York developed the tagline “New York Takes Center Court,” to hype the NBA All-Star Weekend and draw attention to the host city through a dazzling sequence of New York City’s five boroughs. A mix of live action and animation, the commercial gives prominence to NYC mainstays like Brooklyn brownstones and the New York City Subway route map – the latter of which can be seen across all of the games’ promotional materials.

As part of the project, DDB executed a head-to-toe takeover of Grand Central Terminal. Supported media includes OOH ad placements on New York City subway cars, bus shelters and buses, two full pages in the New York Times, AM New York, and comics tie-in.
