Music Supervisor Invites Industry to Support Short Film With Big Ambitions

Well-known and respected Australian advertising music supervisor Andrew Kotatko is inviting local agencies to help fund his new short film based on short story by Raymond Carver and staring international Australian actress Radha Mitchell, French actor Jean-Marc Barr (The Big Blue) and English fashion icon Jane Birkin (as in the Hermes bag).
Kotatko is known among the local advertising industry for his music work on multiple television commercials for Vodafone, mini-series such as Jack Irish and feature films such as The Water Diviner.

Shot in Sydney in January, Whoever Was Using This Bed is described as 'a provocative film about love'. Written and directed by Andrew Kotatko from a story by Raymond Carver (Short Cuts, Birdman), the film’s production team includes DOP Geoffrey Simpson (Shine), production designer Alex Holmes (The Babadook) and costume designer Emily Seresin (Top of the Lake).
Kotatko’s previous short film, the multi-award winning Everything Goes with Hugo Weaving, Abbie Cornish and Sullivan Stapleton, premiered at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and travelled to 55 festivals over two years.

"Whoever Was Using This Bed has been a true labour of love. It’s taken years to find the money to make the film I wanted to make – and with the incredible cast and crew I wanted to make it with. We were incredibly fortunate to have the generous support of Altaire Productions to help get the film shot," Kotatko said.
The Kickstarter campaign funds will pay for the film’s entire post path, which has already had industry support from facilities such as The Gingerbread Man, Spectrum Films and StageOne Sound.
The post-production team includes award winning editor Roland Gallois (Samson and Delilah), sound designers Robert Mackenzie (The Grandmaster) and Sam Petty (Animal Kingdom), and acclaimed composer Ben Frost (Sleeping Beauty).

Supporters on Kickstarter will get to meet actors Radha Mitchell and Jean Marc Barr at the premier and at festivals around the world.
