Match Marketing Hires Creative Director Galen McKamy

Integrated shopper-marketing and brand-activation agency Match Marketing Group (MMG) has hired Galen McKamy as creative director. The seasoned advertising and design specialist reports to managing partner Howard Rubin.

McKamy is an experienced leader in concept and strategy development for complex marketing and design initiatives and a creative director with a proven record of executing global campaigns, in-depth stories and award-winning products for brands. He is based in MMG’s Boulder office.

“Galen will play a key role in MMG’s business development and collaborate with existing clients,” Rubin said. “He will also help us develop our agency culture.”

With his background in design, marketing and work for brands that specialize in connective experiences, McKamy takes a non-traditional approach to advertising, and he has activated everything from experiential programs to international art and brand campaigns. Throughout the course of his career, he has led global initiatives for a range of brands, including Pepsi, Samsung, Burton, MTV, Marvel and Cartoon Network. McKamy has also directed videos for hip-hop groups and created art for bands such as Queens of the Stone Age and the Black Keys.

Most recently, he was creative director at Denver/NYC-based creative studio Motive, where he oversaw the Visual, UX, Graphic Production, Integrated Digital, Experiential and Content teams for accounts such as Pepsi. His résumé also boasts more than a decade of creative direction and design experience at a trio of toy companies: Kidrobot, Hasbro and Fisher-Price.

“This is an opportunity to create and capture take-notice moments that are tied to what’s relevant now,” McKamy says of working at MMG. “To design experiences that activate the brand and the people who participate.”
