Lucky Generals' YOPA Campaign Unveils a Can of Creativity in Poland
Recently Tango Production provided services for Lucky Generals' first campaign for YOPA directed by The Perlorian Brothers at MJZ in Warsaw, Poland. The campaign features some crazy characters in outlandish situations preventing them from using the digital estate agent. We come across a man who lives in a tin of beans, a woman stuck in a boring dream (with a unicorn thrown in the mix) and a captain whose boat has been entombed in ice.
Who would’ve thought this was all shot in Poland?
Something many people aren’t aware of is that Poland and a lot of Eastern Europe are well regarded for their established art departments and set design. In a world where CG and post production are considered imperative to the production process, it would still appear that craft and set construction are still crucial to film making.
“The Polish Film Industry has a very long history with many awarded and well known set designers and art directors who have worked in feature films as well as advertisements,” says Executive Producer Julia Bidakowska-Andren of Tango Production.
In fact in Warsaw alone, there are three shooting stage facilities large enough to construct elaborate and complex sets for both the local and International market. "Tango Production has produced several simple constructions for P&G as well as embellished and detailed commercials for McDonald's, Drambuie, Sony to name a few," says Julia.
“Among the many, many Polish film stars you cannot fail to mention Allan Starski, the Academy award-winning production designer known for his contribution to 'Schindler’s List' and 'The Pianist'. He has also worked extensively on commercials and continues to work on varied projects in Poland most recently 'Hannibal Rising' and 'Snow Princess' by Mark Roemmich for the US market.”
Julia concludes, “At the heart of it, professionalism and creativity are key components for art directors in Poland. Technical and constructive teams are very supportive, effective and efficient which keeps clients coming back time and again."
