Land Rover Partners with Chef James Martin for the Great British Winter BBQ

Land Rover hosted an outdoor winter BBQ in North Yorkshire this weekend as part of its spirited #Hibernot campaign which encourages families and friends to embrace the hidden treasures of winter.

Self-proclaimed ‘petrol-head’ and TV chef James Martin was keen to join in the fun and prove that you can get outside and enjoy the best of Britain’s majestic landscape, regardless of the weather. 

Invited guests were treated to a specially designed feast developed and cooked live by James Martin himself. The ‘Land Rover’ burger sat temptingly on the gourmet menu alongside ‘Smokey Mutton Subs’ with crispy lamb breast, chargrilled pineapple with black pepper, rum and maple syrup and a host of other tasty treats to keep guests warmed and comforted. 



James Martin’s delicious offering was accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack provided by Singer and Strictly Come Dancing star Pixie Lott, who serenaded guests with an impromptu acoustic set. There was a host of outdoor activities for all ages to enjoy including a treasure hunt, remote control Land Rovers and mini speedboats on the lake.

The winter BBQ was created as part of Land Rover UK’s winter #Hibernot campaign, aimed at encouraging Brits to embrace the great outdoors. The #Hibernot hub, features over 300 recommended activities all over the UK for families and individuals to enjoy and explore.



Land Rover Marketing Director, Laura Schwab says; “Hibernate? At Land Rover we say ‘Hiber-not’! We’re embracing winter and encouraging people to get outside and enjoy Britain in the colder months. What better way to finish January than with a celebration of the great outdoors.”

Land Rover dealers throughout the country are also getting involved by hosting their own winter BBQs. Customers will be invited to events away from the showroom to get into the #Hibernot spirit.

With tasty BBQ food and family friendly entertainment set in beautiful surroundings, the 250-strong crowd also had the chance to see the brand-new Discovery Sport in the metal. The Discovery Sport, the world's most versatile and capable premium compact SUV, is the first of the new Discovery family and arrived in showrooms this week.
