Joshua Tree Brings Production Services to Nobrain Shoot
Wrapping up work on their latest project, Joshua Tree recently provided production services to an Istanbul production house for the product launch campaign of a chocolate brand in the Turkish market. The spot was shot on a set and on few locations in & around Mumbai and in Jaipur, Rajasthan over four days. The requirement was to create a dreamy, magical look in four different locations that would do justice to what the directors and the agency had in mind.
To achieve this, the production team went all out scouting locations for over three weeks to find a palace and a forest in the same area around Mumbai, in addition to a huge set being built at the Mumbai film city.
“Even so, the folks in Istanbul wanted something special to add that extra edge to the film and this was achieved by sourcing out the perfect location in Jaipur, to be revealed once the film is out. This again, was achieved after recceeing the Rajasthan region for several days” said Joshua Upputuru, Founder & Executive producer of Joshua Tree.
“This project has given us a great opportunity to once again showcase what we can do here in India in terms of location versatility as well as the high quality production services that we can offer. Apart from the locations the other challenge was to get the cast right. The agency wanted a Turkish looking model and over sixty five prospective foreign models were auditioned before choosing the final one,” further adds Upputuru.
Given that the directors, agency and producer from Istanbul were very specific about the look, the art was another critical element that needed to be perfect. The vintage look required specific props to be sourced and custom made from scratch within a time frame of a little over four days. And all of this was achieved and delivered by the art team by working late into the nights.
The film, almost being made like a music video, had action shots including ones were the model was to be dropped from a height of over twenty feet. The best stunt team in Mumbai was arranged for, in order to make sure that all those were achieved with precision and with the required level of safety.
The location in Jaipur, desolate and three hours out of the city was literally in the middle of nowhere. With very little connectivity the production team handled the challenge of providing everything from permissions, to electricity, to equipment, to food, to even sun protection. All things in place, the directors and the agency got what they wanted.
“We are very excited and waiting in anticipation to see what the final film is going to look like. We have had immense support from the entire team at Joshua Tree here in India and they have gone out of their way to meet all our requirements, even the last minute additional ones like getting India’s top most photographer for the still shoot. This to us looks like the building of a long term relationship, one that we are extremely happy at the prospect of,” stated the executive producer from the Istanbul production house.
Nobrain, working on their fourth project with Joshua Tree had this to say- “Would like to thank you for your trust and generosity. You gave us the best environment to do beautiful things”said Niko, Nobrain, Paris
“Wanted to say thanks to you, it was so great to do all this together! From the beginning till the end you where perfect as usual”- said Charles, Nobrain, Paris.
The film is currently in post-production stages and will be released in December.
