Gelato Messina concocts new 'Sweet As' flavour for cool Kiwi city

Ice Cream Innovation in Tourism New Zealand and Whybin\TBWA Sydney Team Up

New Zealand's coolest capital Wellington just got cooler in a unique collaboration with Australia's much loved dessert brand, Gelato Messina that saw Messina founder Nick Palumbo descend on Wellington for inspiration to create a limited edition 'Sweet as' flavour.

The limited edition flavour “Sweet as” will be available in Gelato Messina stores for one week from this Thursday 12 November. Watch a short video of Nick's journey through Wellington and the experiences that inspired his new flavour creation "Sweet as".

Named on BBC’s Hottest Cities and Rough Guide’s Top 10 Cities for 2015, Wellington has been labelled the ‘coolest little capital in the world’ by Lonely Planet and a ‘locavore’s dream’ by Vogue. Celebrated as the country’s creative and culinary capital, Wellington is nestled between two of New Zealand’s finest wine regions and packed with creators, doers and lovers of life with a contagious energy and passion for their part of the world. Loved locally for its dining culture, accessible waterfront, city markets, walking and biking trails, and some of the best coffee and craft beer on the planet, the compact central city is home to a thriving tech scene and vibrant street culture. Only a short three hour flight from the east coast of Australia and with an airport just a 15 minute scenic drive from the city centre, Wellington is an ideal short break destination, as well as a must visit as part of a longer New Zealand itinerary.
