How Would You Like to Stay in KLM & Airbnb's Airplane Apartment?
From now on consumers will be able to book Airbnb accommodation via the KLM website. To promote this new partnership with Airbnb, KLM and DDB & Tribal Amsterdam transformed a real KLM airplane into an apartment - available for one night only and located at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
Jeroen Thissen, Creative at DDB & Tribal Amsterdam, says: “We have transformed a real KLM aircraft into a luxury apartment, complete with a balcony, kids’ room and huge cockpit panorama deck, overlooking the view of landing airplanes in the distance. Normally airplanes don’t stay on the ground for too long and having a real plane at your disposal for a campaign is, of course, the dream of any creative.”
The airplane apartment was advertised on Airbnb, the online community marketplace for renting homes all over the world.
Karlijn Vogel-Meijer, Social Media Manager at KLM says: ”More than 10,000 people all over the world signed up to win this unique overnight stay on an airplane.”
Three winners were selected to stay in the luxury apartment, which comes decked out with a home cinema, terrace with airport view and eight bathrooms. On the project website consumers can explore the rooms and watch the ‘Making of video’.
