How Grey Singapore is Turning Australia into a Search Engine for Missing People

‘Help Find Me’ – an initiative which has never been seen before and has the potential to reach almost every Australian through the simple act of searching online, was launched today to lead the search for missing persons around Australia.

‘Help Find Me’ is led by the Missing Persons Advocacy Network (MPAN), in partnership with Grey Group Singapore’s newly formed philanthropic arm, Grey for Good, who are teaming up with corporate Australia. 

In an effort to widen the search for Australia’s missing, ‘Help Find Me’ leverages the Internet’s most important feature – the search bar, creating an innovative, fast and efficient channel to aid finding a missing person. The use of high-traffic websites’ search bars donated by corporate Australia is the key to the success of Help Find Me.


Australian actress and MPAN ambassador, Deborah Mailman, is excited to see corporate Australia come forward and support this ground-breaking initiative.

“What this is all about is sharing the responsibility and engaging the Australian community as a collective, to help families and friends of missing Australians who might not have any resources or avenues to find their loved one,” she said.

When a user lands on a participating website and uses the search function on that site, the profile and image of a missing Australian will automatically pop up. A link to the campaign website is included for anyone who may have any information or wants to learn more, and get involved.

To do this, ‘Help Find Me’ has called upon corporate Australia, with many companies donating the use of their website’s search bar for the next seven days.

Companies including St George Banking Group and Metcash, along with the websites of their ancillary businesses are some of the major corporates involved in ‘Help Find Me’. All of which share MPAN’s desire to assist the families of missing persons to find their loved ones. 

Deborah said: “There is an important need to raise the awareness of missing persons in Australia. Over 38,000 people go missing in Australia each year, which equates to around one person every 15 minutes.”

“Help Find Me is a powerful initiative that has the potential to completely change the lives of so many Australians. Missing persons is a serious community issue and we should all be doing more to help the thousands of Australians directly affected.”
