Heineken Marks MLS Rivalry Week with 'Announcer Remix' Broadcast

Publicis New York works with Funny Or Die for amusing commentary during LAFC and LA Galaxy

Heineken Marks MLS Rivalry Week with 'Announcer Remix' Broadcast

Heineken and Funny Or Die presented the first-ever ‘Heineken Announcer Remix' during the El Tráfico match between LAFC and LA Galaxy at the weekend.
Taking place in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the Heineken Announcer Remix closed MLS Heineken Rivalry Week with a hilariously unexpected take on sports commentary.

Hosts Andy Daly and MLS legend Cobi Jones hosted the second-screen broadcast and were joined by surprise guests Bill Nye, Natalie Morales, Jo Koy, and some colorful characters to offer fresh perspectives on soccer, life, and rivalries. The Funny Or Die-produced show was livestreamed on Facebook during Sunday’s LAFC vs LA Galaxy game.
In conjunction with Funny Or Die, Heineken worked with Edelman and Publicis New York to develop the program.

"Combining real soccer, (or football to give it it’s proper name, c’mon I’m a Brit), analysis from Cobi Jones with Andy Daly’s improv comedy is a great way to bring Heinekens Fresh Perspective to our audience and MLS fans,” said Andy Bird, chief creative officer, Publicis New York. “A massive rivalry served up hilariously - it’s a different way to watch, with a cold Heineken of course.”
