Filament Post Brings Christmas Magic to Not On The High Street Campaign

Sprinkling the magic of Christmas to every scene, Filament Post created matte paintings of a stylized suburban night sky with glowing moon, smoking chimneys and snow dusted roof tops, recreated house fronts to lengthen a shot, simulated snow in 3D and imprinted it with footsteps.

Filament founder and Flame operator Hani AlYousif explains “Everyone knows you can’t have Christmas without sparkle and magic, but these elements are hard to come by when shooting in London in early autumn. Our team of CG and matte painting artists added the wonder dust to this film which was beautifully shot in anamorphic and stylized with a rich, saturated grade. Where would Christmas be without chimneys and stockings, snow and soapsuds, moonlight and stars? All of these elements needed to be realistically created, simulated, animated and seamlessly composited. We were virtually Father Christmas for this job!”

Carrying on the “Couplets” theme from the last commercial, actor Claire Skinner’s enchanting voice journeys us through a variety of Christmas day scenes where children and adults alike do their part to make Christmas more memorable, thoughtful, personal and . . . less ordinary.

Filament delivered the 60 seond film in the agreed timeframe, along with an additional two 30 second cut-downs and three 10 secondd films, thanks in part to the advanced capabilities of their new Flame.

‘Christmas’  is the second Not on The High Street film to enjoy Filaments new facilities, utilizing the full suite of Flame 2015, Flame Assists, Mayas and benefiting from the latest fibre infrastructure.
