Directors Ted Pauly and Melissa Silverman Get 'All Over It' with New Web Series

Directors Ted Pauly and Melissa Silverman have released “All Over It,” a new web series featuring the exploits of four Philly-based artists working together as a collective under the same roof.

Created, written and directed by Pauly and Silverman, “All Over It” plays as charismatic comedy online, following the team’s misguided exploits as they attempt to sell their artistic ollaboration without any sense of what their “brand” actually is.

Tongue-in-cheek antics also deliver a jaded look into inevitable realities of the creative process as seen in hangovers, writers block, rejection and, of course, shameless self promotion.

The show is also on par with the lives of many in the creative industry today. “The show reflects a slow-motion car crash version of the creative process,” overviews Pauly on the genesis of the show. “We drew a lot of inspiration from the history of our own living and work arrangements and those of our friends; from the need to cultivate ideas anytime, anyplace, anywhere."


“All Over It” was also inspired by Pauly and Silverman’s own early experiences breaking into the advertising world – Pauly noting that the project was “a meta-exercise in working out commercial demons." 

“The show is in part a reflection of our own working process,” Silverman adds on personal experiences, first working with Pauly at MTV’s On Air Promotions before both discovered success directing commercials.

“The show hinges on the concept that ideas come out of creative people all of the time. We’d constantly be collaborating on things in our downtime, not just at work.” 

Initially written and shot as a 22 minute pilot, “All Over It” was then cut down to 9 episodes to garner an audience online:“We felt that people would get invested in the show if we put it out there in short bursts,” says Silverman on the move. 

“You don’t need to appeal to everyone, it’s more about finding a loyal following. I feel it’s an amazing time for comedy right now because there are so many ways to reach your audience. It’s very encouraging, almost empowering to release our show in this fashion.”


Five episodes are currently available to view online with new episodes released each week featuring the talents of Kate Dearing, Alex Malaos, Chris O’Brien, Nadia Quinn and Jim Santangeli. Guest appearances include Ben Sinclair (High Maintenance) and H. Jon Benjamin (Archer, Bob’s Burgers). 

Meanwhile Silverman continues directing spots through stateside production company Savage. Clients include Starz/Directv, McDonalds, Tuborg Beer and United Way, while awards from D&AD, PromaxBDA and TELLY Awards combine with an EMMY nomination on work for Nickelodeon. 

Pauly is also busy directing work through production entity Furlined, shaping work for clients that include Verizon, Chevrolet, Snickers, Lifesavers and Toyota.
