Director Johnny Hardstaff Signs to Academy & A+
Multi award winning director Johnny Hardstaff has joined Academy and A+ for commercial and content representation in the UK.
With Golds at Cannes, D&AD, Campaign BIG, The British Arrows, APA, One Show, AICP and many others, there are few directors that can boast a locker full of metal so substantial.
A graduate of graphic design from Central St Martins, Johnny started directing in 1999 making it onto the Saatchi & Saatchi New Director Showcase a year later.
His graphic influence is prevalent in work for Honda, Smirnoff, Tropicana, Kenco, Sony, Xbox and the unique Phillips ‘Parallel Lines’ project through DDB. In 2012 Johnny directed several strands of a hugely successful integrated campaign to promote the film Prometheus, including ‘DAVID’ starring Michael Fassbender and ‘Transmission’ with Idris Elba.
‘Future of Gaming’ and an experimental 2 track music video for Radiohead (‘Like Spinning Plates’) have been exhibited at creative institutions around the world including MOMA, the Tate Modern, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Laforet Museum in Tokyo, the V&A and many others.
