DCM Appoints David Hipkiss as Commercial & Trading Director
Digital Cinema Media (DCM) has announced the appointment of David Hipkiss as its Commercial and Trading Director.
In a newly created role, David will take responsibility as Commercial and Trading Director for driving and delivering the trading strategy for DCM, as the company continues to expand the commercial arm of its business. He will report in to CEO Karen Stacey and work closely with DCM’s Head of Agency Sales, Davina Barker. David joined DCM on 1 September 2015.
Karen Stacey, DCM’s CEO, commented: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of David as our first Commercial and Trading Director. DCM has been experiencing a stellar year, with huge growth in revenues and reputation. As we continue to innovate and further cement cinema’s role in the media mix, David’s wealth of experience, impressive little black book of contacts and sharp strategic thinking will only help transport DCM to the next level.”
David Hipkiss added: “I am hugely excited to be joining such a well-respected business at a time of change in the industry - where AV opportunities are proliferating and the cinema industry is growing so strongly. I am thrilled to ignite my passion for screen media and re-establish my successful working relationship with Karen Stacey and her dynamic team at DCM. I see huge potential going forward for DCM to develop innovative ways of working with agencies to drive growth.”
The hire of David Hipkiss follows DCM’s investment in its commercial team with four new recruits across its innovations, sales and client teams last month, while Jonathan Darke, formally Account Executive, has also been promoted to Agency Trading Manager, adding more support to the trading side of the commercial team.
David has a wealth of experience across both the agency and media owner sides of the industry, holding senior positions at ITV, WCRS, Vizeum and most recently Bauer Media, where he was Commercial Director.
