David&Goliath Believes In Something Bigger for the California Lottery

David Angelo, Founder and Chairman of independent creative agency David&Goliath (D&G), today announced the launch of a new initiative for the California Lottery, titled CA Believes , which recognizes and celebrates individuals who aspire to “Believe in Something Bigger.”

The campaign consists of a series of six inspirational short films, each featuring the real life story of different individuals in California who are defying the odds, changing lives and chasing their dreams on a daily basis. You can view all the films at http://cabelieves.com/

“’Believe in Something Bigger’ started as a tagline for Powerball.  But soon we realized it could mean something bigger,” said Angelo. “It became the start of a movement. And it inspired us to find six different people in different places doing some pretty special things.”


D&G created the “Believe in Something Bigger” platform when Powerball was first introduced to California in 2013. It has since evolved into a mission for the CA Lottery that represents both the size of the prize as well as the infinite possibilities that come with winning, beyond the material things that money can buy.

The 2-3 minute films feature everyday heroes ranging from a restaurant owner in Southern California who pays it forward by preparing 1,000 plates of meals a day to hungry children, to a man defying his disability by becoming a competitive track and field sprinter, to the founder of a Compton-based equestrian club for kids, and more. The website also includes a call-to-action that asks users to tweet or upload their own stories – using the hashtag #CADream – about what inspires them to “Believe in Something Bigger.”

“What we love about the CA Lottery is that it is an organization that lives its mission from the inside out, 24/7,” Angelo added. “This campaign is a fresh way to demonstrate to people that the Lottery stands for more than just monetary jackpots. CA Believes is a rallying cry to inspire Californians to believe in the power of possibilities and that true inspiration can ignite real change in our world.”
