Brand Union Appoints Jonny Westcar as Managing Director in London
WPP-owned global brand strategy and design agency, Brand Union, has announced the appointment of Jonny Westcar to the position of MD London.
Reporting into Simon Bolton, Worldwide CEO, Jonny has been promoted from his current position as Client Lead for GSK to lead the strategic growth of the London office, while also maintaining some of his key client responsibilities.
Simon Bolton, Worldwide CEO of Brand Union, said: “Jonny is very well respected by his clients, one of whom I quote: ‘Jonny makes a powerful contribution to everything he's involved in through insight, astute analysis, inspirational leadership and effective decision making based on years of strategic experience in branding’.
"He has been instrumental in the growth of some of our fastest-growing and internationally diverse key clients, a skill which I know he will put to great use in growing our London office. I’m excited by his ambition for our clients, for our work, and most importantly, for our people. I look forward to working alongside him as he takes on this new role."
Jonny first joined Brand Union in the agency's former identity as Enterprise IG in 2001 based in Sydney, soon emerging in a senior role as Managing Client Director in 2006. Wishing to add a client-side perspective to his portfolio, Jonny stepped away from Brand Union in 2011 to take up a role as a client-side marketer with Nominet UK, one of the world's largest internet registries, managing over eight million domain names, at a very interesting time for the development of the internet. Jonny rejoined Brand Union in 2013 as client lead for GSK.
Jonny Westcar, MD London at Brand Union, commented: "Having originally joined the network over 13 years ago, I have developed a true passion for the development of the agency and the creative and strategic work we provide our clients. I'm honoured to be selected for this role and I can't wait to put my strengths to effective use further building the business and our client offering."
