Acne Signs Director John Turner
Acne is thrilled to announce the worldwide signing of British director, John Turner.
John’s career in the creative field started upon his graduation in photography from the University of Westminster. His passion for filmmaking shines through in his recent documentary for Red Bull ‘The Search for Blue Gold’, which portrays his love for beautiful cinematic filmmaking, storytelling and his obsession with vintage denim!
His interest in narrative and performance led him to direct films, commercials and television promos alongside shooting still life photography campaigns. In turn, his commercial work led him to work as a Creative Director for Virgin Media where he worked on various award-winning campaigns and won Gold for Best Newcomer, Silver in World and Gold in Europe in the Best Director Categories.
John’s latest branded films include ‘The Search for Blue Gold’ for Red Bull, a documentary-style film for iconic fashion brand, Baracuta and a beautiful charity film ‘Live Life Then Give Life’ which he made with JWT London. HIs high profile branded documentary for Mercedes with AMV BBDO #stylepitstop in conjunction with London Fashion Week and featuring Daisy Lowe, Tinie Tempa, Reggie Yates and Dermot O’Leary was another huge success.
John has a multi-disciplinary skill set adaptable to any project, he feels at home with documentary and narrative work and also loves to embrace new technology, which is reflected in his recent spot for Kia, an interactive campaign allowing viewers to get a fully immersive 360 degree perspective.
