A Post Boy Goes On A Roll In Leo Burnett's New McDonald's Ad

McDonald’s UK today launched a campaign to promote the selection of iced smoothies and frappés available in the brand’s premium McCafé range. Specially featured are two new promotional iced drinks: the Chocolate Chip Frappé and the Peach & Passion Fruit Smoothie.

The TV commercial, created by Leo Burnett and directed by Tony Barry, follows an office post boy completing his daily deliveries cheered with the joy of summer. The ad highlights how the summery taste of the drinks is available at any time with the strapline: ‘It’s summer when you say it is.’

Helen Higgins, Marketing Manager for Beverages at McDonald’s UK, said: “Our customers welcomed the launch of our iced beverage range last year and we hope this year is equally successful, given the appeal of these new promotional flavours and of the full range of McCafé premium beverages.”

The campaign is supported by mobile and digital work from Razorfish as well as press and outdoor executions from Leo Burnett. 

The TV and outdoor campaigns were created by Phillip Deacon, Sabina Kelly and Caroline Rawlings. The creative directors were Richard Robinson and Graham Lakeland, and the ECD was Justin Tindall. Tony Barry at Sonny directed the TV commercial, while the outdoor campaign featured illustrations from the Real Camille and 3D work from PICS UK.
