A Deputy Editor is needed to join the UK’s leading Christian media house, based in London. Expect to be involved in all aspects of editorial creation and production (print and digital) for a Christianity magazine. With over 1.5 millions copies published each year, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of this charity.

With a mission to enable people to put their faith at the heart of daily life and to bring Christ to their communities, this media trust broadcasts on DAB digital radio, Freeview and online, as well as publishing 3 magazines. Their websites have a combined average weekly traffic of around 1 million visits with their national Christian helpline being one of the UK’s top 10 helplines by number of calls; they truly are leaders in Christian communications.

Joining as a Deputy Editor you will maintain editorial content in line with the ethos, values and broad Theological Evangelical spectrum of their magazine. Whether you are filtering ideas / features pitched by freelancers; ensuring timely dispatch of good quality copy; writing one or more features a month or liaising with radio, video, web and marketing for 360 degree collaborative projects, you will be key in maintaining an overview of all the print and digital versions of the magazine.

To qualify... You will be a Deputy Editor / Magazine Editor / Features Editor or similar who can demonstrate:

  • A successful track record in writing and editing;
  • An understanding of and ideally experience in working across media platforms (radio, web and print);
  • A professional level of editorial quality and service;
  • The ability to work well in a team;
  • A committed Christian and church member (A genuine Occupational Requirement under the Employment Equality (Religion and Belief) Regulation 2003 applies).
