A Strategic Relations Manager / Commercial Strategist is needed to join the national trade association representing angel and early stage investment. As a new management position expect to provide key input into the growth and development of this established trade body.

Operating for over 10 years, this rapidly growing trade association connects all those involved in the angel investment market with a view to ensure a coherent ecosystem for financing the growth of start-up and early stage business.  With a member list that includes angel networks, syndicates, individual investors, early stage VCs, Equity Crowdfunding platforms, accelerators and professional advisors the company is perfectly placed to represent the single largest source of early stage capital in this country.

Working closely with the Chief Executive you will join as a Strategic Relations Manager / Commercial Strategist helping to support the growth and sustainability of the trade body. You will deal closely with banks, lawyers, venture capital firms, independent investors and anyone else to ensure all parties are fully engaged whilst identifying any relevant revenue generating opportunities. You will also take responsibility for creating a connected marketplace for the angel community that will support member interaction and access to deal flow.

Some UK and European travel to relevant meetings and events will be required.

To qualify... You should be an experienced, highly organised and proactive Strategic Relations Manager / Commercial Strategist / Strategic Development Manager / Relationships Manager / Commercial Account Director, or similar, with excellent people skills and a CV that can demonstrate experience in:

  • A strategy development or relationship management role in either a public sector or private sector organisation;
  • Working in one of the following: financial services organisation, trade association, membership based organisation, think tank or research development body;
  • Working for a business focussed environment or in supporting a small business;
  • Relationship development in the context of developing relationship partnerships or sponsorships;
  • Engaging with a range of players including individuals at senior level as well as great presentation skills.
