Product Designer - (Toys, Games And Gifts) - (Closing Date: 20/07/2014)

We are seeking a creative Product Designer to join the UK’s largest independent toy and games group. Based in Guildford, you will join as the latest member of a dynamic design team developing the latest toys from conception through to production.

Founded in 1993, this fast moving, entrepreneurial business has a turnover approaching £110 million with offices in France, Germany and Hong Kong. They have an enviable portfolio that includes Moshi Monsters, Crayola, Disney, Skylanders, Cut The Rope, The Hobbit, One Direction and many more.

Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will join as a Product Designer helping deliver amazing product designs for some of the largest brands in the child and tween markets. Expect to manage the complete product design lifestyle from brainstorming and concept development to project management and production, you will not only ensure products look great but also come in on time and on budget.

To qualify...  You should be a Product Designer with a CV / Portfolio that demonstrates the following:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree or equivalent;
  • Awareness of the latest trends and brands;
  • Strong Photoshop & Illustrator skills;
  • A good understanding of the design process and manufacturing techniques;
  • Confidence with budgets and schedules;
  • Good team working and communication skills – sketch, written and verbal;
  • An organised multi-tasker that enjoys a varied workload with a pro-active 'can do' attitude;
  • Self-motivated positive team worker with excellent project-management skills;
  • Not afraid to speak up and a flexible, personable attitude with a fantastic sense of humour!

Experience within the toy industry (especially for the female youth market) is desirable. A full, clean driving license is a plus – but not essential.
